Need a hand?
Most things below fix themselves in under a minute. If they don’t, email the developer directly — a real person reads every message.
A recipe didn’t import from a link
Some sites change their markup often enough that MiSousChef can’t reliably read a recipe off the page, or block automated requests outright. A few things to try:
- Paste the link again — occasionally it’s a one-off network hiccup.
- Use the site’s own “print recipe” or “jump to recipe” link if it has one; those pages are usually cleaner.
- If the link still won’t import, use photo scan to capture a cookbook page or screenshot instead, or paste text to drop the ingredients and steps in directly — both skip the website entirely.
Recipes aren’t syncing between devices
Recipe sync rides on your personal iCloud account, so it depends on both devices agreeing on who you are:
- Check that both devices are signed into the same iCloud account (Settings ’s your name at the top).
- Make sure iCloud Drive is turned on for both devices.
- Give it a minute — sync isn’t instant, especially over cellular.
If iCloud is ever unavailable, MiSousChef falls back to storing recipes on that device only, and the app keeps working normally — you just won’t see those recipes elsewhere until iCloud reconnects.
Restoring a purchase on a new device
The MiSousChef unlock is a one-time Apple In-App Purchase tied to your Apple ID, not a MiSousChef account, so there’s nothing to log into. On the new device, look for a restore option within the app’s Preferences screen. Apple verifies it against the Apple ID you’re signed into on that device and unlocks the app — no charge, no waiting.
Get in touch
For anything not covered above — a bug, a broken import on a specific site, or just a question — email the developer directly:
It helps to include your app version (Preferences → About), the device and iOS/iPadOS version you’re on, and, if it’s an import problem, the link or a screenshot of what happened.
